My nursery is small, and it's literally in my backyard. Any gardening practices that I undertake have to be gentle enough that I am willing to live right beside them.
Any way possible, Jungle Brothers does the right thing. For instance, I'm really happy with this simple aquaponics plant. When we are watering the plants, we dip the watering can into this small fish pond and use that for the plants. The plants get the fertilizer from the fish water, and the fish pond gets cycled with fresh water.
The plants get water that has been circulating, oxygenating and absorbing nutrients from the fish, nutrients are suspendend in a very light concentration.
One of the things you will notice at Jungle Brothers is that we have a lot of used pots. Terra cotta pots, ceramic pots. We use these and we think it's a good idea.
We source these pots while out on botanical adventures- combing all of Yolo County for plants, and pots.
If you have cool plants you'd like to share, or pots you don't need, we will take them! Every used pot we sell is one fewer new pots that needs to be made.
Brenda's Ducks
When we have a big influx of snails attacking our plants- we don't reach for chemicals- we bring in some of the neighborhood ducks who come out and have a party while getting rid of the snails.
There are a lot of different ways all of this can be done. Jungle Brothers tries to choose the right way.

At Jungle Brothers we strive to treat all people with respect. Whether its when we go into a customer's home, or when we hire a crew for work, we treat all people with value and respect.
When you see the Jungle Brothers crew, you can be assured that we aren't pushing our employees down, trying to profit as much as we can for ourselves. The employees have value, and we treat them that way. We don't exploit our workers, and we don't exploit our customers. You'll get fair treatment from the Jungle Brothers.
We're not corporate, and we don't try to be.
Just about every plant we sell is easy to propagate, and all of them are free of patents, controls or anything that would limit you from propagating, selling, or anything else you want to do. If you want to learn about propagating plants, just ask!
